The artwork is one of the commissioned pieces for the Czech and Slovakian Republic Pavilion at the 55th Venice Biennale. An artwork critically and subjectively reflects the cultural and historical aspects of artistic discourse, whereas it is mostly built on an institutional framework. He created a montage of collected archives (footages and images), accompanied by a poetic narration. Baladrán explored the essence of attractive connection between materials and humanity values, through the mapping of matters possessing context with the contemporary art center’s activity. Within the narration, the artist affirmed that the awareness to explore new meaning of civilization can only be seen through a historical approach prioritizing its focus on the long term historical structure –longue durée. There, the awareness is the manifestation of resistance against authoritative tyranny.

To place the idea of communism as a foundation of the entire social relationship and the basis of social ontology, the artwork again question the very nature of film as a meaningful liberative function for human beings. As related with the New Order context in Indonesia, the artwork provokes a synthesis of the clashes emerging between the ‘people’s organic experience’ and the ‘institutional power force’. To metaphorically place human existence as something that settles deeply at the bottom of the relational sociocultural ocean, the artwork criticizes today’s existence as the main key to reveal the past, in the efforts of revealing the future.
