Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, or the Indonesian Miniature Park, has become an important moment for the historical narration of New Order administration’s glory. By minimizing the archipelago into pavilions and dioramas, people may visit Indonesia just within a day. The park, which was initially opened in 1975, has become the main destination of study tours for school and university students across the country. In this particular park, almost all Indonesians have acquired memorable experience, as they interactively learnt about the nation’s identity and culture according to the government official narration at the time.

Narpati Awangga and Taman Mini, an uplifting film which brings back a personal childhood memory possessed by oomleo – whose real name is Narpati Awangga. In this particular artwork, the narration revealed by oomleo is not the primary narration on Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, rather a magical secondary narration born due to his intimacy to the park itself. Based on his memory alone, oomleo is trying to explore his childhood trails with his father from one room to another. He reconstructed his own history, which is most likely possessed by most Indonesians like himself.
