Interactive Multimedia Performance
Indonesia, 2015

Since its birth, Eng Ong TV created by Agus Nur Amal has become a penetration of Indonesian broadcasting programs that exhaustively presented the 2004 Aceh tsunami disaster as a commodity. Since then Eng Ong TV has traveled the world at large to perform the art of oral tradition that tells the life of an East society.

Eng Ong TV has a unique way of performing. Agus Nur Amal doesn’t only offer his views over daily musings of Acehnese and Indonesian people but also over social and political affairs. To spice up his storytelling, he also makes use of daily, ordinary stuffs as his artistic medium that is able to animate the narration to create analogies about an event or a character reflected from daily realities.

In his multimedia performance made for OK.Video, Agus works together with Chairul Bachri to create a multimedia visual while Empi helps him with the setting and property. These three collaborate in a multimedia performance that tells about unfinished violence cases of the past due to the unchanged paradigm of the state and the military in viewing and handling societal problems.
